Former Maryland cornerback Will Likely has dreamed of hearing his name called at the NFL Draft since he created video game characters to get drafted in Madden.
He had an opportunity to realize that dream in 2016 but decided to return for his senior season. It's a decision he says he doesn't regret, despite tearing his ACL during the team's sixth game of the year.
"I learned a lot from it," Likely said on Glenn Clark Radio April 5. "Just being patient and all types of things with the relationships I formed [at Maryland]. And most importantly, I was able to get my degree. I was able to graduate. It's a lot of pros and cons with that but no regrets at all; once I made that decision to come back, I was all about the team."
