Welcome to the first waiver-wire edition of the 2017 fantasy baseball season. We're not even a full week into the season, so it's difficult to fully recommend players, but this is at least a good time to put players who could help down the line on fantasy owners' radar.

Texas Rangers Relievers Matt Bush and Jeremy Jeffress -- Closer Sam Dyson would already like to hit the reset button on his season, as he has already allowed a combined eight earned runs in two appearances spanning one inning of work. The right-hander has only been a full-time closer for one season, so there's not much history to fall back on. For now, the Rangers have said Dyson will remain the closer, but with each shaky outing, the possibility of that changing increases. Fantasy owners, especially Dyson owners, need to think long and hard about scooping Bush or Jeffress off the waiver wire. It's a coin flip as to who would get the first crack, with most believing Bush to be in front. I lean toward Jeffress, as he has actually closed in the big leagues.
