Five Things To Know About Ravens Safety Tony Jefferson

Free-agent safety Tony Jefferson signed a four-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens March 9, leaving the Arizona Cardinals to join safety Eric Weddle along the back end of the Ravens' secondary. The two were graded as top five safeties by Pro Football Focus in 2016, however, Jefferson got a different start to his NFL career than most.

1. Early Success Proved Fruitless

A product of the University of Oklahoma, Jefferson had perhaps his two best seasons as a Sooner during his freshmen and sophomore years, combining for 6.5 sacks, 14.5 tackles for loss and six interceptions. He was named Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2010.
