Electric Drive Transportation Association Appoints Rob Stewart as Board of Directors Chair

3/5/17

At its quarterly Board of Directors meeting in Washington, D.C. on February 28, the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) announced new leadership for its Board of Directors.

Rob Stewart, Manager, Smart Grid and Technology for Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), will be the new chair of the association's Board of Directors. Stewart succeeds Scott Gerke, Manager, Federal Affairs, for Honda North America, Inc., whom EDTA Board members recognized at the meeting for his outstanding contributions to the electric drive industry.

Rob serves as the utility functional area manager of research and development for PHI. In his present role, Rob leads an effort that is responsible for further developing and managing PHI's approach to evaluating and deploying advanced technologies and concepts for application on the electric system. He has served as a member of the EDTA Board of Directors since 2012.

EDTA President Genevieve Cullen voiced her support for the incoming chairman. "We are very pleased to welcome Rob Stewart to the leadership of EDTA. Our organization will benefit greatly from his unique experience in electric drive," Cullen said. "Rob is an ideal leader for EDTA at this pivotal time for the industry."

Mr. Stewart noted, "I am extremely honored to be appointed EDTA chair and am excited for this new opportunity in serving the EDTA and its constituents by helping enhance education around advanced clean energy technologies and infrastructure in the communities we serve."
