DJ Durkin: 'There's No Separation' Among Terps' QB Competition

With 2017 spring practices beginning March 12, University of Maryland head football coach DJ Durkin insisted no one has a leg up in perhaps the offseason's most consequential position battle.

Durkin said the fight for the starting quarterback spot will be an "open competition" during an interview with Glenn Clark Radio Feb. 27.

"It's neck-and-neck. They're going to have every opportunity to go win the job," Durkin said of the prospective quarterbacks. "There's no separation or deciding factor yet, that's what spring ball is for."
