The Maryland men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak, which included two losses by double digits at Xfinity Center, with a 79-59 victory at Rutgers Feb. 28 on the back of a 47-point second half and a balanced effort that included scoring by all 10 Terrapins who took the floor.
During Maryland's three-game skid -- at Wisconsin Feb. 19 and at home against Minnesota Feb. 22 and Iowa Feb. 25 -- the Terps were outscored by a combined 39 points during the second halves collectively. When asked about the Terps' second-half struggles after the Minnesota loss, Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon stressed that the season "ebbs and flows" rather than assigning blame to the brief trend.
Less than a week later, the Terps outscored the Scarlet Knights, 47-31, during the second half, in what was probably their best stretch of basketball since their win at Northwestern Feb. 15.
