Terps Fall To Hot-Shooting Iowa For Third Straight Loss

Less than two weeks ago, the Maryland men's basketball team beat Northwestern, 74-64, in Evanston, Ill. Feb. 15 to improve its record to 22-4 overall and 10-3 in the Big Ten. It also meant the Terps would face Wisconsin Feb. 19 for a chance to push their way to the top of the conference.

But since the win at Northwestern, the Terps have lost three straight games, the latest being an 83-69 setback to Iowa at Xfinity Center Feb. 25.

Maryland honored the 2001 Final Four and 2002 National Championship teams during halftime, but the 15th anniversary celebration of the title team couldn't do much to distract from the current squad that is suddenly in danger of losing out on a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament. Maryland, Minnesota and Michigan State all have six losses and are likely competing for the two remaining spots for a double bye after Purdue and Wisconsin.
