On Jan. 28, the Maryland men's basketball team secured a victory at Minnesota and extended its winning streak to six on the back of a 59-point second half -- one of the best offensive halves of the season for the Terps. Unfortunately for Maryland, the Gophers returned the favor when they visited College Park, Md., less than a month later.

Maryland held a 53-50 lead with a chance to add to it with about 13 minutes to play in regulation against the Gophers Feb. 22, when Terps freshman forward Justin Jackson missed an open 3-pointer that would've stretched Maryland's lead to six. Gophers sophomore guard Dupree McBrayer immediately tied the game at 53 on Minnesota's next possession.

McBrayer's 3-pointer sprung a 9-0 run and 59-53 lead for the Gophers. Maryland quickly tightened the score to cut the deficit to one point with 9:10 remaining, but the Gophers then went on another 9-0 run to make the score 70-60. It was all part of a 55-point second half for Minnesota, which defeated Maryland, 89-75, for its sixth straight victory.
