Northern Virginia Magazine has named 64 Children’s National Health System physicians to its 2017 list of “Top Doctors.” These elite physicians represent a wide array of specialties within Children’s National, including nationally ranked programs such as Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Neonatology, Orthopaedics and Urology. Twelve of these physicians also practice at several Northern Virginia locations through Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV).
“I’m proud to see so many of our physicians recognized for their commitment to excellence and provision of exceptional care,”says Kurt Newman, MD, President and CEO of Children’s National. “This acknowledgement affirms our physicians’ high level of expertise and their dedication to helping children grow up stronger – in Northern Virginia, across the region, and beyond.”
Nominations for Northern Virginia Magazine’s list of “Top Doctors” are generated by a peer survey and panels from eight local hospitals. Each panel nominated the doctors based on internal evaluations, patient reviews, patient access, training and quality of records.
Offering more than 50 pediatric specialty care programs and departments, our specialists provide care at Children’s National Sheikh Zayed Campus for Advanced Children’s Medicine and as part of PSV across Northern Virginia, as well as a number of other locations throughout the region. Children’s National is the only health system in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area dedicated exclusively to pediatric care and is one of only four pediatric hospitals in the country to have been ranked in the top 20 in every specialty evaluated by U.S. News & World Report. It also is designated a Leapfrog Group 2016 Top Hospital, the only children’s hospital in the Northeastern United States to be named to this prestigious list, and is a two-time recipient of Magnet® status.
