New Podcast Celebrates DC’s Entrepreneurial Culture

Founders Nextdoor

Founders Nextdoor is a new podcast that features stories of local entrepreneurs in the DMV area who created successful businesses that make a positive difference in their community.

When Natasha Che wanted to start her own business last year, the first thing she did was to drive around DC talking to successful entrepreneurs. “I just thought I’d learn a lot by talking to people who’ve done it before,” she said.

What she soon discovered was every entrepreneur had such fascinating stories to tell. Because starting a business is such a roller-coaster trip filled with ups and downs.

Natasha began recording her conversations with DC business owners, entrepreneurs, and freelancers, and made them into a podcast. She thinks those stories will offer inspirations and practical tips to anyone who wants to start their own thing.

The initial episodes of the podcast featured founders of Mind Your Body Oasis in Crystal City, Right Proper Brewing Company in Shaw, and Secolari Olive Oil Tasting Room in Woodley Park.

“DC has changed so much in the past decade,” Natasha said. “It’s not just a town of lawyers and lobbyists anymore, but filled with talented entrepreneurs and creative folks. I hope this podcast will help highlight the latter aspect of this amazing city and also inspire more people to become purpose-driven entrepreneurs.”

The Founders Nextdoor Podcast debuted on Tuesday, January 17. It’s a weekly show. You can find it on iTunesGoogle Play, and Stitcher
