DLA Piper Names Jeff Lehrer Washington, DC, Office Managing Partner

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Jeff Lehrer has been named managing partner of the firm’s Washington, DC, office. Lehrer focuses his practice on corporate and securities transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, venture capital, joint ventures and corporate finance and international matters.

In addition to his new role, Lehrer will continue as managing partner of DLA Piper’s Reston, Virginia, office. He is also co-chair of the firm’s Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice and counsels a range of early stage and later stage companies, as well as venture capital firms and corporate venture clients. Lehrer earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia, and his B.A. from Rutgers University.

Lehrer succeeds Mary Gately, who has served as DLA Piper’s Washington, DC, office managing partner since 2014. Gately will continue in a senior leadership position in the DC office, and as co-head of the DC office's Litigation group.  The firm’s Washington, DC, office represents clients in a range of practice areas, including federal affairs and government contracts, real estate, corporate and securities, environmental policies and issues, telecommunications, intellectual property, venture capital and emerging companies, biosciences, labor and employment and international commerce.
