iDiscovery Solutions to Speak on Data Security and Privacy Liability at Sedona Conference Working Group 11 Annual Meeting

1/16/17

iDiscovery Solutions (iDS), an award-winning legal technology consulting and expert services firm, announced today that Managing Director Julian Ackert will be a featured moderator of “Privacy by Design” at the Sedona Conference Working Group 11 (WG11) Annual Meeting. The event takes place January 16-17 at the Loews Don CeSar Hotel in St. Pete Beach, FL.

The session, at 4:15pm on day one, will focus on WG11’s Privacy by Design initiative. While there is a good amount of conceptual information and guidance from regulators on the topic, WG11 is taking on the challenge of addressing the practical ways it can be implemented to protect privacy and avoid privacy-related liability. Mr. Ackert will be joined by Lily Lim of Finnegan, Neil Reimann of Penry Riemann, William Sampson of Shook Hardy and James Shook of Dell EMC.

“I’m looking forward to speaking again surrounding Privacy by Design at the Sedona WG11 Annual Meeting,” said Mr. Ackert, an eDiscovery, digital forensics, and data analytics expert.  “There is an impressive set of collective minds in this Working Group collaborating to identify and develop best practices that address data privacy and data security issues that arise during the litigation lifecycle.”

WG11 aims to identify and comment on trends in data security and privacy law to help organizations prepare for and respond to data breaches, and to assist attorneys and judicial officers in resolving questions of legal liability and damages. Throughout the Sedona event, participants will be able to share feedback and input on topics including privilege in the data security litigation context, firm data security, and data security and privacy issues in civil litigation.
