Sheltering Arms Names New President And CEO

Richmond-based Sheltering Arms, which operates two rehabilitation hospitals, has named a new president and CEO.

Mary A. Zweifel’s appointment will become effective on Jan. 1. She joined the organization as chief operating officer in 2012 and has been interim president and CEO since last December.

Before joining Sheltering Arms, Zweifel was CEO of Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital in Pennsylvania. She has held both clinical and leadership positions at other rehabilitation organizations throughout her career and has served as a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for nearly two decades.

Zweifel earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and master’s degree degree from University of Kansas.
