Skanska USA Promotes Mark Miller to SVP and Account Manager

Skanska, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms, announced today it has promoted industry veteran Mark Miller to Senior Vice President – Account Manager for its Washington, DC operations.

In his new role, Miller will guide the firm’s activities in greater Washington while building client relationships and strengthening operational performance. Miller will assume this new role in January of 2017.

Miller brings more than 25 years of construction expertise and spent the last four years with Skanska working out of the firm’s Connecticut office. He has a history of completing many successful projects on time and under budget for a diverse group of clients across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, research, hospitality, municipal, higher education, office, mixed-use facilities and parking. He has also delivered a variety of project types, such as private public partnerships (P3) and complex industrial infrastructure projects, including nuclear and fossil fuel power plants and cement production facilities.

Most recently, Miller oversaw the completion of the new Stamford Hospital expansion and renovation project, delivering a new 650,000-square-foot state-of-the-art hospital in Fairfield County Connecticut for Stamford Health, one of Connecticut’s largest hospitals. Previous landmark projects managed by Miller include the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Farm Research Campus in Ashburn, VA, The Newseum in Washington, DC, Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, VA and the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, FL.

Miller graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He also studied at the University of South Florida where he graduated with a Master of Business Administration. Most recently, he graduated from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, with distinction, where he earned a Master of Design in real estate and urban development.

Miller is a licensed professional engineer and certified general contractor, as well as a LEED AP®. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Construction Institute at the University of Hartford.
