Designed to Help BSEE Effectively Manage Risks

The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) has awarded a contract to CGI Federal and Wynyard Group for the implementation of enterprise risk management software.

Wynyard Risk Management software was selected by BSEE earlier this year after a competitive selection process. Wynyard’s software will be hosted in CGI Federal’s cloud IT environment, under the terms of the multi-year contract awarded to CGI Federal in 2013. The system is expected to go live in October.

BSEE’s mission is to promote safety, protect the environment, and conserve offshore oil and natural gas resources through vigorous regulatory oversight and enforcement.

The objectives of risk management at BSEE are to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risk to the Bureau through gathering and analyzing accurate and reliable information. BSEE seeks to identify internal and external risks to the organization’s capability to fulfill its missions and evaluate strategies to mitigate those risks. Enterprise risk management encourages a proactive approach to risk management by considering both internal and external risks as part of the Bureau’s overall management.
