The popular fitness app that provides custom workouts whenever, wherever is excited to have the opportunity to make their pitch this February.
Sworkit, the leading provider of personalized video workouts for iOS and Android devices, is going to make its pitch on “Shark Tank” on February 19, 2016, 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT on ABC.
Thanks to Sworkit, getting healthy isn’t just easy—it’s interactive. The free fitness app offers its users both customizable and randomized workout solutions that fit in the palm of their hands. Now anyone can keep their fitness regimen challenging while working out anytime, anywhere with no equipment required.
Pitching to the Sharks for The Washington, D.C. based company, is CEO Ben Young, a leader in software development who was named 2015’s Techpreneur of the Year by Black Enterprise Magazine; and COO Gregory Coleman, an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and prior U.S. Air Force pilot.
“It is so amazing to have the opportunity to present to the sharks,” said CEO Ben Young. “We have had such an incredible journey creating an app that provides people with the tools they need to stay fit and healthy, and are hoping we can continue our journey with the help of the Sharks.”
Their app, which launched in 2014, was rated number one by a recent study assessing fitness apps based on the parameters for safety, stretching, progression, and more set by the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine).
This win, along with 12 million users and growing, makes it no surprise that they are looking to expand their offerings.
Already this past year they’ve launched Sworkit Kids, featuring fun exercises and videos demonstrated by kids for kids; and Sworkit Premium, a subscription service loaded with extras including ad-free workouts and the Ask a Trainer feature.
"We have a lot of great projects coming down the line for Sworkit and hopefully with this opportunity to present to the Sharks, we can continue to educate people about our awesome fitness app and create even more offerings to help keep users healthy and in shape," said COO Gregory Coleman.
Wondering what innovative new thing they’ll do next? Watch Sworkit on “Shark Tank” on February 19, 2016, 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT on ABC.
Nexercise launched Sworkit in 2014 to deliver on-demand, video exercise programs that can be done anywhere, anytime. Sworkit has been featured in Lifehacker, Women’s Running, Gizmodo, Mashable, Army Times, Brit+Co, Elle Magazine, Shape and more, and received the DC TechDay Techie Award for Best in Health Tech in 2014.
