ARLINGTON, Va.  -- Robeco Investment Management Inc. has marginally raised its stake in FBR & Co. (Nasdaq:FBRC) to 4.76 percent worth $6.24 million, according to an SEC filing.

The Dutch money manager, founded in 1929, said it owned 2.61 million shares in the Arlington, Va.-based investment bank. The stake's value is based on the stock's closing price of $2.39 per share on Feb. 6.

Last September, Robeco held 2.55 million shares in FBR, representing a 4.65 percent stake then worth $6.07 million. Robeco, which is part of the Rabobank Groep, has U.S. offices in New York and Boston.

FBR provides investment banking, merger and acquisition advisory, institutional brokerage, and research services through its subsidiary FBR Capital Markets & Co.

Mark E. Donovan became Co-Chief Executive Officer in 2008. He is responsible for strategic and tactical operating decisions affecting the firm. He has been Chairperson of Robeco Boston Partners Equity Strategy Committee since 1997. He is the lead portfolio manager for Robeco Boston Partners Large Cap Value and Large Cap Value-Focused portfolios. He was one of the founding partners of Boston Partners Asset Management in 1995, which he joined after leaving The Boston Company, where he was Senior Vice President and equity portfolio manager. Earlier in his career, he was a consulting associate with Kaplan, Smith & Associates and a securities analyst for Value Line Inc. Mr. Donovan holds a B.S. degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
