Dr. Eric Tridas Named President of International Dyslexia Association

Dr. Eric Tridas

The International Dyslexia Association is pleased to announce that Tampa, FL based developmental and behavioral pediatrician, Dr. Eric Tridas, has been named president of the organization's Board of Directors. Dr. Tridas has been a member of the IDA's Board of Directors since 2002 and served as the organization's vice president from 2009-2012.

IDA Executive Director Stephen Peregoy stated, "Eric Tridas is truly an asset to the field of pediatrics and in particular to the diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities in this country. His understanding of children and their struggles both with dyslexia and other learning differences is truly remarkable. I speak for the entire IDA organization when I say that we are very much looking forward to Eric's term as President."

Dr. Tridas completed his fellowship in ambulatory pediatrics, child development and learning disabilities at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Boston. During that time he held an appointment as a teaching fellow at Harvard University Medical School. Dr. Tridas completed his residency in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine in 1977. Dr. Tridas is a clinical assistant professor in family practice at the University Of South Florida School of Medicine. He is a member of the National Board of the International Dyslexia Association. Dr. Tridas is also the state medical director for Pediatric Health Choice Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (P-PEC) facilities.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society for Developmental Pediatrics, the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
