ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Mandiant Corp. has completed a $70 million offering, raising the amount from three investors.

The Alexandria, Va.-based provider of threat detection and response solutions and services disclosed the raise in a recent regulatory filing - presumably linked to its announcement at the end of June that it closed an investment with One Equity Partners, the private investment arm of JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

Mandiant CEO Kevin Mandia said, "We look forward to scaling and meeting the significant demand for Mandiant products and services with the resources of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and One Equity Partners."

Executives named in the filing include:

- Michael Malin, CFO
- David Merkel, CTO
- Danielle Metzler, VP of Finance and Accounting

CEO

Kevin Mandia is the CEO of MANDIANT. He has over 17 years of security experience at Foundstone, FTI, and the United States Air Force as a Special Agent. He is an industry-recognized specialist in Incident Response and Computer Forensics. Kevin holds degrees in Computer Science and Forensic Science. Kevin is the co-author of Incident Response: Investigating Computer Crime and Incident Response: & Computer Forensics. Kevin has earned the CISSP designation.

Jody Gessow
Director

Jody Gessow is the West Coast Partner and Managing Director of One Equity Partners, the private equity platform of JPMorgan Chase. OEP invests approximately $1-$2bb per year of equity capital in growth companies in the US, Europe, Asia and South America. Prior to joining OEP, Jody was a partner at Oak Hill (Robert M. Bass) with a focus on operating companies with real estate concentrations. He co-founded K.K. daVinci Japan and Signature Resorts (formerly on NASDAQ & NYSE), where he served as CEO. Prior to this, he was a partner at Trammell Crow Residential. Jody serves on the boards of TV Guide Holdings, Luca Technologies and the not for profits Board of Trustees of University of Maryland, UCLA's Foundation Board of Governors and YPO International Chapter. Previous boards include Oncology Therapeutic Networks, Cable Systems Holdings, Westin Hotels and Resorts and the USPS Pro Cycling Team. R. Kent McGaughy, Jr. is a Managing Director and shareholder of CPMG, Inc. Prior to joining CPMG's predecessor, Cardinal, in 1997, Kent worked in investment banking at Simmons & Company International. Kent currently serves on the boards of Mandiant Corporation and Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas (summa cum laude; member, Phi Beta Kappa) and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Ted Schlein

Ted Schlein is a Managing Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He joined the firm in 1996 with a focus on early stage technology companies in the enterprise software and infrastructure markets, including ventures within the network and consumer security arena. Ted was the founding CEO of Fortify Software, a pioneer in the software security market and now an HP Company. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors of 3VR, 41st Parameter, Chegg, Hara Software, IronPlanet, Jive Software, Mandiant Corporation, Reputation Defender and Verdiem. He also oversees KPCB's investments in Endgame Systems, LifeLock and Bit9. Prior to joining KPCB, Ted served as Vice President, Enterprise Solutions at Symantec. He joined the software company as one of its early employees and played an instrumental role in Symantec's growth and dominance as a global software leader. Ted led Symantec's successful move into the software utilities market, as well as the launch of its commercial anti-virus solution, an offering that quickly emerged as the industry gold standard. Ted is the former Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association and the former President of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. He currently serves on the Board of Overseers of the Engineering School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ted frequently participates as an opinion leader in public, private and government forums, providing perspectives on security technology, related investments and market adoption trends. Ted holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
